Christmas 2008

Christmas was all kinds of fun this year. Kendall really believed in Santa and understood the concept. Gavin wasn't quite there but still loved all the presents he received. Both kids can't decide what new toy to play with these days. Although the holidays are fun, we are glad they are over. All of us but Ryan caught colds after Christmas. Kendall ended up getting pnemonia so we are having to hang low for New Years. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a Happy New Year.

Grow Baby Grow

So today was Gavin's day. We had two doctors appointments and two thearpy sessions. What a busy day it was. First, I took Gavin to his Endocrine appointment which measures his growth. Turns out he has grown 3.8 inches in four months and gained two pounds. This is huge for Gavin and we are so thrilled the hormones are working. They have actually bumped up his dosage so by next time hopefully he will gain some more. Then we went to the eye doctor. Gavin is still not wearing his glasses and the doctor wants us to keep trying. Yah right, he doesn't have to try to get the kid to wear them! He gave us some drops which will blur his vision and allow the glasses to help him see. Hopefully this will work and he will learn to wear his glasses the hard way. I feel bad doing this but if it is the only way to get them on the kid it is worth a shot. If this eventually doesn't work in fixing his crossed eyes he will have to have surgery. We are thinking of going to see another eye doctor to see what they say. I just don't want to put Gavin through another surgery if I don't have to. Well, that is all I have so far. Gavin is taking a nap right now and then we are off to thearpy. Luckily I can sit and read my book for a couple hours while Gavin is hard at work.

Christmas Time Is Here

So this past weekend we put the finishing touches on our holiday decorating. We went out and picked up our tree. Kendall had a blast putting the ornaments on the tree. Gavin just tried to hit all the ornaments off the tree. I can't believe christmas in a couple weeks. I better get a move on the wrapping. Well, hope you all are having as much fun this holiday season as we are.

Thanksgiving Fun

So this past weekend we had lots of fun celebrating Thanksgiving. Ryan's mom was in town and we were able to spend some quality time with her. We took the kids to see my grandma for the first time since her surgery on Thanksgiving. She was happy to see them and they were the hit of the nursing home. My grandma is doing good and we are going to start arranging to bring her home in the next week hopefully. We were able to get our house all set up for Christmas this weekend. Kendall loved all the decorations and is finally knows how Santa is. She is going to be tons of fun on Christmas. Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday.

New Playset

So this weekend Ryan and Grandpa Tim finally finished the kids playset. This was an early christmas gift from Grandma & Grandpa. Now all Kendall wants to do is go down the slide. I unfortunately caught the flu the kids had all week so I was not involved in all the exitement yesterday. Other than that, we have no big news to report. We are gearing up for Thanksgiving and looking forward to some good meals. Ryan's mom is coming into town so it will be nice to visit with her. Then we are going to the Valdez house for Thanksgiving (which I am really looking forward to). Hope everyone has a wonderful, family filled Thanksgiving. Hopefully more pics to come next week.

Thearpy...Thearpy...Thearpy

Lately, it feels like all I do is go to work and take Gavin to thearpy. He goes to a physical, occupational and speech thearpist one hour each three days a week. I know it is helping him but is sure does wear me out. I know it wears him out also and I just feel so bad for him sometimes. He has gone through so much in his short life and I wish him a month without any doctors or thearpist.
Since I created this blog, I know I haven't put up any pictures of the kids. I will try to take some this weekend. We have all been on and off sick for the past two weeks. Yuck! Well, check back next week for some new pictures.

Wild Fires

So this weekend was full of lots of wild fires in Orange County. Some were close to home but luckily we were safe from danger. We just got pounded with smoke. One of the fires came really close to our old house in Anaheim Hills, we would have been evacuated. The other fires hit neighborhoods we looked to move to also. We talked last night and said it was meant to be that we lived in this house away from all the fires.

Tired...tired...tired

It seems since Oct. 31 when my grandma had hip replacement surgery it feels like I have been going none stop. Between Kendall and I being sick and visiting my grandma every day, I'm exhausted. Grandma is doing okay, we are bringing her home hopefully this week so this will lift her spirits. Well, nothing else to report this week.

Happy Halloween

So we had a very busy Halloween day. I started my day at the hospital for my grandma's hip replacement surgery. She did great and is a lot of pain right now as expected. After the hospital, I went home and visited with Ryan's dad & Wanda until we could get the kids dressed. My mom, Tim and grandma then came over and we went Trick or Treating around our neighborhood. The kids had so much fun this year. Kendall picked it up quickly and kept saying, "okay we go now, more candy." Here are some pictures of us Trick or Treating.

Welcome to my Blog

So I am new to this whole blog thing. I will try to update it weekly with updates and pictures of the kids.
Quick update...Gavin hates his glasses. He refuses to wear them and is getting extremely frustrated. We don't know how to keep them on. If you have any suggestion please feel free to tell me. Kendall is great. She is talking non stop and loves to help around the house. We are looking forward to Halloween this year, the kids should have a blast trick or treating.
